1.1 What this page is for
Responsible analytics is a comparison and investigation page. Use it to answer questions such as:
- Who has been active recently?
- Who has upcoming or past scheduled activities?
- Which members are responsible for open courses?
- Are recommendation results improving or declining?
- Which no-show or cancellation reasons recur?
- Which private notes or event reports require follow-up?
- Which courses and tasks currently belong to a responsible member?
The page remembers much of your display state, including filters, selections, tab, dates, expanded sections, and grid settings. When you return, first check that the restored filters and date ranges still match the work you intend to do.
1.2 Understand the page layout
The page has three main zones:
- Members, on the left, is where you search, filter, order, and select people.
- The tab workspace, on the right, contains Activities, No shows, Charts, Resources, Private Notes, Event Reports, Courses, Performances, and Task.
- Print Selected experience and the recommendation follow-up legend appear below the workspace.
There is no tab literally named Dashboard on this page. The dashboard-style information is divided between:
- Charts, which combines selected-member charts with two organization-wide recommendation trends; and
- Resources, which shows organization-level resource and instructor-allocation statistics.
The chart meanings and their different scopes are explained in sections 1.8 and 1.9.
1.3 Find and filter members
The number beside Members tells you how many entries are currently visible. When filters hide part of the list, the counter can show the visible number compared with the total.
Name filter
Type in Filter Members to narrow the list by member name. Clear the field to restore the other matching members.
Course-responsibility filter
The course selector below the name filter finds members who are responsible for one or more selected open courses. You can choose several courses. Use All or None inside the selector to change the complete selection quickly.
More options menu
Select the … button to open the complete filter and ordering menu.
The available choices include:
| Choice | What it does |
|---|---|
| Display Active/Inactive members | Changes whether inactive accounts are included. Read the menu wording carefully: it offers the state you can switch to. |
| Display Only Follow-up | Keeps members marked by the recommendation follow-up rules. The red follow-up mark identifies these members. |
| Is set as a course responsible | Keeps members currently responsible for at least one open course. |
| Search by role | Opens a searchable checklist. A member is kept when at least one selected role matches. |
| Is an instructor / Instructor class 1–4 | Keeps instructors, optionally at the selected highest recorded class. |
| Had / NO Flight training in the last 30 or 90 days | Filters by recent qualifying flight-training activity. |
| Had / NO Ground course in the last 30 or 90 days | Filters by recent ground-course activity. |
| Collapse All / Expand All | Closes or opens the member-list headings. |
| Order by Group | Groups members under their main organization group. |
| Order by Name | Lists members alphabetically. |
| Order by Role | Groups members under roles. A person with several roles can appear under more than one heading. |
| Reset filters | Clears the text, course, role, instructor-class, activity, and responsibility filters and restores the normal display state. |
| Refresh | Reloads the member information from the system. |
Filters can be combined. If the list becomes unexpectedly empty, use Reset filters, then apply the filters again from broadest to narrowest.
1.4 Select members correctly
The comparison tabs use the highlighted members from the left column.
- Click one member to replace the previous selection.
- Hold Ctrl while clicking to add or remove members from a multi-selection.
- Select Select all to select every currently visible member.
- Select the check icon on a group, letter, or role heading to select the visible members in that section.
Select all means all visible members, not every member hidden by filters. This makes it useful for building a comparison from a carefully filtered population.
Changing the selection refreshes the active comparison tab. Activities, No shows, and the first four Charts depend on this selection. Other tabs use a different scope, as shown below.
| Area | Uses highlighted left-side members? |
|---|---|
| Activities | Yes |
| No shows | Yes |
| Charts 1–4 | Yes |
| Charts 5–6 | No; organization-wide recommendation trends |
| Resources | No; organization-wide data |
| Private Notes | Organization-wide summary; actions can use selected members |
| Event Reports | Uses its own Member selector |
| Courses | Uses its own Member selector |
| Performances | Uses its own Member selector |
| Task | No; shared Responsible analytics tasks |
Useful double-click shortcut
Double-click a member card when you want to investigate that person. The page selects that member for Private Notes, Event Reports, Courses, and Performances, while also keeping the normal comparison selection behavior.
1.5 Use the member right-click menu
Right-click a member card, portrait, or supported member name to open the shared member menu. Depending on your permissions and the member’s information, it can provide profile, course, communication, scheduling, files, qualifications, and page-specific actions.
Responsible analytics adds these useful actions:
- View event reports opens Event Reports for that person and opens the newest report.
- View assigned courses opens Courses for that responsible member.
- Add a private note opens that member’s private-note thread.
When several members are selected, Selected members can provide bulk private note, system email, external email, internal normal or blind-copy message, SMS, scheduler, and week-calendar actions. Options appear only when the required contact details and permissions are available.
Always review the recipients before sending a bulk message or creating a bulk note.
1.6 Activities tab
Activities is the main side-by-side comparison matrix. Each selected member receives a column. The fixed left column names the measure; the body can scroll horizontally and vertically while headings stay aligned.
Read and control the matrix
- Select a section arrow to collapse or expand that section.
- Select the X in a member heading to hide that column from the current comparison.
- Use Display all to restore hidden columns.
- Select the small arrow beside a measure to sort member columns by that measure.
- Select the active sort arrow again to reverse ascending and descending order.
- You can also use the item and direction selectors at the top of the matrix.
- The Position row shows each visible column’s current position out of the number of visible members.
- An average shown beside a measure uses only visible, non-empty numeric member values.
For flight activity and schedule sections, an All / Planes / Sim selector can change the visible values without reloading the page. Planes excludes simulator categories; Sim includes simulator categories. Ground rows are not changed by the aircraft selector.
Meaning of each Activities section
| Section | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Instructor class | Highest instructor class recorded for the member. Treat it as a classification indicator, not proof that every related qualification is currently valid. |
| Global Rankings | Overall responsible ranking, when your role may see it. Ranking combines configured factors; hover for the explanation and avoid treating rank alone as a quality decision. |
| Course rankings | Responsible rank inside each eligible course. A higher result can reflect student outcomes, group size, or both. Only authorized course rankings appear. |
| FL records Activity dates | First qualifying Training/Internal flight-record activity, last activity, and elapsed duration between them. |
| Training, internal FL act. | Total qualifying duration in the last 7, 30, 90, and 365 days. Use All/Planes/Sim to change the resource scope. |
| Ground courses activities | Ground-course duration in the last 7, 30, 90, and 365 days. |
| Past nbr. scheduled activities | Counts of non-cancelled past Training/Internal and Ground schedules in rolling 7, 30, 90, and 365-day periods. Later activities on the current day are not yet past. |
| Next nbr. scheduled activities | Training/Internal and Ground schedule counts in the next 7 and 30 days. |
| Open assigned courses | Open course assignments for which the member is responsible, shown by course and in total. |
| Recommended lessons—fail/total | Passed and failed recommendation counts grouped under course headings. Select a value to inspect the underlying recommendations. Red follow-up styling reflects the configured follow-up rules shown below the page. |
| Hazard and event reports | Counts authored by the member, regular event reports concerning the member, and access-warning indicators where enabled. Hazard, Event, and Concerned Event counts represent different relationships to a report. |
| Activities accounting | First and last accepted activity-accounting dates, when this feature is available. |
Recommendation drill-down from Activities
Select a recommendation value to open the Recommended Lessons dialog.
- Choose the number of recent recommendations to include. Enter
0for all. - Choose the inclusive before date.
- Expand a recommendation lesson to see individual attempts.
- Double-click an attempt to open its course record.
The parent row shows title, description, quantity, passed count, and failed count. Attempt details include the date, evaluator, course, student, result, preceding dual lessons, and preceding lessons performed by the recommending instructor.
Some authorized users also see a reset action. It marks a recommendation as unaccountable for performance calculations; it does not delete the completed lesson. Enter a meaningful comment and use the undo action only after confirming why the recommendation should count again.
1.7 No shows tab
No shows compares scheduled, cancelled, and completed activity for the selected members. Access can depend on scheduling and supervisory permissions.
The matrix can include:
- Training
- Solo
- Renting
- Internal
- Ground
- Other
- each configured cancellation reason
- completed activity counts
Cancellation reasons marked with a warning icon are reasons your organization has identified as needing special attention.
Change the period
Use the date-range control inside this tab and apply the range. The page recalculates scheduled/cancelled values, reason counts, and completed records for the displayed members.
You can hide individual member columns and restore them, just as in Activities. Compare a cancellation count with scheduled and completed activity before drawing a conclusion: a larger schedule volume naturally creates more opportunities for cancellation.
1.8 Charts: the selected-member dashboard
Charts defaults to approximately the last month and does not allow a future end date. Apply a date range to reload the charts.
The six charts do not all use the same scope. This is the most important point when interpreting the dashboard.
Chart 1: Number of Training/Internal flight activities per month
- Scope: selected members and selected date range.
- Horizontal axis: month.
- Vertical axis: number of qualifying activities.
- Series: one line per selected member.
- Meaning: frequency of completed, positive-duration Training/Internal flight-record activity. A month with none appears as zero.
Use this chart to compare workload rhythm and identify sustained gaps or peaks. It does not measure teaching quality or explain why activity changed.
Chart 2: Training, Internal, and Ground flight-record duration
- Scope: selected members and selected date range.
- Categories: Training, Internal, and Ground record types.
- Meaning: total recorded duration attributed to the selected members in those activity categories.
Use it to understand the mix of recorded activity. Do not add this automatically to the next ground-session chart: the two charts come from different operational record types and can describe different work.
Chart 3: Ground-session duration from course lessons
- Scope: selected members and selected date range.
- Meaning: ground-training duration recorded through completed course lessons.
Use it to compare ground instruction entered in Training Records. A low value can mean less ground delivery or that the work was recorded through another activity type.
Chart 4: Training/Internal duration by resource category
- Scope: selected members and selected date range.
- Meaning: total Training/Internal duration divided by resource category, such as aircraft or simulator categories configured by the organization.
Use it to see where instructional time is being delivered. Compare the category mix with qualifications, availability, and assigned courses before interpreting it as expected or unusual.
Chart 5: Percentage of failed recommended lessons per year
- Scope: organization-wide, not limited by the highlighted members or Charts date range.
- Period: current calendar year and the five preceding calendar years.
- Meaning: annual share of recommendation-linked lessons that failed.
Use this as a long-term organizational trend. A higher percentage deserves investigation, but it is not automatically negative: changes in lesson difficulty, evaluation policy, volume, or which courses use recommendations can change the result.
Chart 6: Total recommended lessons per year
- Scope: organization-wide, not limited by the highlighted members or Charts date range.
- Period: current calendar year and the five preceding calendar years.
- Meaning: annual number of recommendation-linked lessons.
Read this beside Chart 5. A percentage based on a small number of recommendations can move sharply; the total chart provides the volume context needed to interpret the failure percentage responsibly.
Print a chart
Select the small print control on a chart, then choose the available scale, page format, and orientation options. The printout reflects that chart, not the entire tab.
1.9 Resources: organization-level dashboard
Resources is independent of the selected-member list. It defaults from January 1 of the current year through today. Applying another range recalculates organization-level information.
Number of resources
Each box shows how many distinct resources in a category were used during the chosen period. Hover a box for its configured type breakdown. Select a box to open the maintenance statistics page when that link is available.
This is an observed use count, not necessarily the complete owned fleet or every resource configured in the system.
Students per Instructor Allocations
Each configured line chart follows a selected training activity over time. The reporting interval can be monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
| Series | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Nbr students | Ratio of distinct participating students to distinct participating instructors for the period. This is visible by default. |
| Hours | Total qualifying hours divided by the participating instructors. It uses the right-side Hours per inst axis. |
| Inst | Number of distinct participating instructors. |
| Std | Number of distinct participating students. |
Select a legend item to show or hide its series. The dotted trend line helps visualize the direction of the student-to-instructor ratio.
A rising ratio means more participating students per participating instructor in the configured activity. It can indicate higher instructor load, but it is not proof of overload: consider hours, course design, part-time availability, and the number of instructors and students shown by the hidden series.
Instructor activities performance (% over median performance)
These doughnut charts group instructors into activity-volume bands relative to the organization’s displayed benchmark. A value around 100% represents the benchmark; below 100% is lower recorded activity volume and above 100% is higher.
The bands are:
- 0–9%
- 10–49%
- 50–74%
- 75–99%
- 100–149%
- 150–199%
- 200% or more
The slice value is the number of instructors in the band. This measures relative activity volume, not competence, safety, teaching quality, availability, or student results. Use it as a workload-distribution prompt and investigate context before acting.
1.10 Private Notes tab
Private Notes is an organization-wide summary of accessible private notes attached to members. It is not limited to the highlighted comparison selection. You cannot open the private-note thread attached to your own profile.
Search and open a thread
Use the search toolbar to filter by member, note text, author, or date. A date can be a single day or an inclusive range. Double-click a row to open that member’s thread and focus the related note or reply.
Add one private note
- Select the add-note control.
- Start typing a member name.
- Choose the member from the suggested list; typed text alone is not a confirmed selection.
- Continue to the thread.
- Enter the note and select Add note.
When exactly one eligible member is selected on the left, the dialog can prefill that person.
Add the same note to several selected members
Select more than one member on the left, then use Selected members → Add a private note. Review the captured recipients, enter the note, and save. A separate top-level note is created for each displayed recipient.
Reply and delete
- Select Reply, enter the answer, and save it.
- Expand or collapse replies with the triangle control.
- You can delete only a note you wrote and only while it has no replies.
- Notes and replies are limited to 10,000 characters and cannot be blank.
- There is no edit action; add a correction reply when context must be preserved.
1.11 Event Reports tab
Event Reports is a read-only browser for regular or regulatory reports concerning one member. It excludes hazard, squawk, and QA reports.
- Choose a member in the tab’s Member selector.
- Select a report from the left list.
- Read the report information on the right.
List statuses mean:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Closed | The SMS closure date has been recorded. |
| Corrected | Corrective-action text exists, but the report is not closed. |
| Waiting answer | The report is not closed and no corrective action has yet been recorded. |
The detail can show the regulatory reference, written date and time, activity date, event text, answer, corrective action, occurrence category, subcategory, root cause, and closed date. Empty SMS analysis values appear as N/A.
Select Print to open the corrective-action PDF. This printout is the corrective-action document, not a copy of every section displayed in the browser pane. It may state that the plan is not yet approved.
1.12 Courses tab
Courses shows open course registrations assigned to one responsible member. Its Member selector is independent of the highlighted members on the left.
Read the grid
Rows are grouped by course and start expanded. Common columns include:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Member | Student assigned to the selected responsible; hover for profile and course context. |
| Group | Student’s current group. |
| Assigned on | Course-assignment creation date. |
| FL act. | Current In flight/In ground state or latest qualifying flight activity date. |
| Prio. | Course priority and who or what set it. |
| AI indicator | Behind, At Risk, On Track, or Complete, when AI analysis is enabled and visible to you. |
| Lesson completed | Green bar for the member’s completion percentage. A blue background bar can show the same-course group average. |
Hover the completion bars to see the member percentage, group average, and number of members included. The comparison is progress through course lessons, not a grade.
Search and filter
Select the magnifying glass in the footer to show the filter row. You can filter by course, member, group, assigned-date range, latest flight-activity range, priority, and AI state where available. Closing the search toolbar clears its filters.
Course actions
Right-click a course row. Depending on your permissions, actions can include:
- open the course in a new window
- assign, change, or remove the responsible member
- print the summary, comments, or exercise details
- view course performance
- set priority
- update an Additional instructors field
- close the course and record a close reason
When assignment permission is available, the status says that drag and drop is enabled. Drag a course row onto a member in the left list, review the confirmation, optionally select Alert by message, and save.
1.13 Performances tab
Performances focuses on recommendation outcomes for one member. It is the full-page version of the recommendation drill-down described in Activities.
- Choose a member.
- Enter how many recent recommendations to include;
0means all. - Choose an inclusive before date.
- Expand a recommendation lesson to view attempts.
- Double-click an attempt to open the corresponding course record.
Use the passed, failed, and total counts together. A recommendation with a low volume should not be interpreted in the same way as one based on many attempts.
Authorized users can mark an attempt unaccountable or restore it, using the same confirmation rules as the Activities recommendation dialog.
1.14 Task tab
Task is the shared Responsible analytics follow-up list. It is independent of the current member selection.
Typical controls are:
- refresh the list
- show or hide search filters
- add a task
- edit the selected task
- double-click a row to open it
- right-click Status, Priority, Closed, or In charge for quick changes
The default view focuses on open tasks. If a task disappears, change the Closed filter to All or Closed.
Recurring tasks
After setting a Start date, use the calendar control beside Recurrence to create a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly rule. You can end the series by a date, after a number of occurrences, or leave it without an end date.
Late open occurrences appear in light red. Daily series can combine several missed occurrences into one row marked with a multiplier. Acting on an individual occurrence gives it its own history. To stop a series permanently, remove its recurrence and then close it.
1.15 Print selected flight experience
Use Print Selected experience to print the flight experience of the highlighted instructors.
- Select at least one member in the left list.
- Select Print Selected experience.
- Choose Letter, Legal, A4, or A3.
- Choose landscape or portrait.
- Start the print and review the output in the new tab.
If no member is selected, the dialog asks you to select at least one instructor.
1.16 Recommended first-use workflow
- Open … → Reset filters so you know the starting population.
- Choose Order by Name while learning the page.
- Search for one member and select them.
- Review Activities and understand the section definitions.
- Review No shows with an intentional date range.
- Review Charts and distinguish selected-member Charts 1–4 from organization-wide Charts 5–6.
- Open Resources and review the organization-level context.
- Double-click the member, then inspect Private Notes, Event Reports, Courses, and Performances.
- Record follow-up in a note or task only after confirming the correct member.
