Resources and fleet status

Published 7 October 2026, Updated 7 October 2026

4.1 What the Resources grid tells you

The Resources tab is the principal operational overview. Aircraft are normally grouped by resource group and type. Each row represents one flight resource.

Column or iconMeaning and recommended use
Task icon and badgeNumber of related open tasks. Select it to open the Task tab filtered to that registration.
PosOpens the configured flight-following location when available.
BaseAssigned base location.
Type / Registr.Aircraft type and registration. Type can be hidden in the default grouped view.
TTSNCurrent total time since new, calculated using the organization’s configured air-time or block-time basis.
UsedRecorded utilization.
HobbsLatest registered Hobbs value.
Warning/forbidden iconNo valid next-due TTSN squawk is available, or the required next due is already overdue. A forbidden icon identifies a mandatory next-due condition that prevents release in the Flight Record.
Next warningHours remaining before the next limiting TTSN condition grounds the resource.
StatusCurrent availability state, such as available, warning, or grounded.
Grounded fromDate/time from which the resource is grounded; displayed only while grounded.
Since/LeftHow long a grounded state has existed, or the time remaining while in warning.
WrenchThe aircraft is marked In maintenance.
UntilExpected maintenance return date/time, when entered.
AMOAircraft Maintenance Organization currently assigned to the visit.
Crystal-ball valueAverage daily hours for the current month based on the same month in recent years. Use it as a workload indication, not a guaranteed forecast.
Calendar valueEstimated overdue delay based on future Scheduler bookings and the organization’s selected time basis.
Last pos.Latest operational position or flight state. Check this before attempting a maintenance-state change.
Next scheduleNext known scheduled activity.
Maintenance pressureCombined operational indication intended to help prioritize attention. Review the underlying next due, utilization, and schedule before acting.
PriorityResource order used in the Flight Record. Authorized Flight Record users can raise or lower it.
EyeView of the resource is restricted to members with the required Scheduler visibility.
BookPilot Operating Handbook reference is present.
Sun/moonAll-day, daytime-only, or nighttime-only availability.
Calendar availabilityWeekdays on which the resource is available.
Scheduler restrictionIndicates that the resource is not displayed or is unavailable according to its Scheduler configuration.

Inactive resources are visually distinguished and are hidden unless Show inactives is enabled.

4.2 Resources toolbar

The pager toolbar below the grid contains these controls, depending on access:

ControlOperation
RefreshReload current resource information without changing filters.
Toggle Search ToolbarShows or hides column filters. Search operators are available for text and numeric columns.
Toggle GroupingSwitches between the grouped fleet view and a flat list.
Show/Hide inactivesIncludes or removes inactive resources from the grid.
PrintOpens the Resources list output dialog.
StatisticsOpens utilization statistics for a selected date range.
Expand or Collapse AllOpens or closes every resource group.
Add a resourceOpens the resource-creation dialog.
Delete a resourceDeletes a never-used resource or makes a used resource inactive after confirmation.
See details and edit resourceOpens the resource configuration dialog for the selected row.

Search filters combine with one another. If a row seems to disappear, clear the search toolbar, confirm the inactive setting, and refresh.

4.3 Open the Squawk Manager for a resource

Use either method:

  1. Double-click the resource row; or
  2. Right-click the resource and choose Squawk Manager.

The dialog title identifies the selected registration. Verify it before changing a squawk, maintenance state, or data-sheet value.

4.4 Resource right-click menu

The menu changes with the row state and the member’s access.

ActionWhat it does
Squawk ManagerOpens all detailed tabs for the selected aircraft.
Delete or set inactivePermanently deletes a never-used resource; otherwise preserves it as inactive.
Set as activeReactivates an inactive resource.
Flight followingOpens the configured live tracking page.
Display tasksOpens Task filtered to this registration and open tasks.
Open SchedulerOpens the live Scheduler for the resource when the member also has Scheduler access.
Send to maintenanceMarks the aircraft in maintenance, optionally assigns an AMO and expected return.
Return from maintenanceClears the active maintenance visit and returns the resource from that state. It does not close unresolved squawks.
Set maintenance until…Adds or changes the expected return date/time.
Set A.M.OAssigns an active AMO, or None to clear the AMO assignment.
Manage A.M.OOpens the Aircraft Maintenance Organizations manager.

Actions may be disabled while the aircraft is in a flight/position state that makes the requested change unsafe. Refresh the row and confirm the last position before retrying.

[SCREENSHOT: maintenance-resource-context-disabled | Capture: A resource whose flight/position state disables a maintenance action, including the explanatory tooltip if shown.]

4.5 Send an aircraft to maintenance

  1. Right-click the correct registration.
  2. Choose Send to maintenance.
  3. Read the confirmation: the aircraft will be unavailable and cannot be ramped out until returned.
  4. Select an AMO if the destination is known. Leaving it blank records maintenance without an AMO.
  5. Enter an expected return date/time when it is operationally useful.
  6. Confirm.
  7. Verify the wrench, Until, and AMO columns on the refreshed row.

The maintenance state and squawk state are separate. Sending an aircraft to maintenance does not close a squawk, and closing a squawk does not automatically return the aircraft from maintenance.

[SCREENSHOT: maintenance-send-result | Capture: Resource row immediately after confirmation showing wrench, Until, AMO, and availability state.]

4.6 Return an aircraft from maintenance

Before returning the resource, confirm that the official maintenance release is complete and every relevant squawk has the correct closing information.

  1. Right-click the registration.
  2. Choose Return from maintenance.
  3. Confirm the action.
  4. Verify that the wrench, expected return, and AMO visit indicators are cleared.
  5. Recheck Status, the missing-next-due warning, and the Status board before release.

Returning from maintenance removes the maintenance-visit state only. A grounding squawk, a missing mandatory next due, a Scheduler unavailability block, or another restriction can still prevent release.

[SCREENSHOT: maintenance-return-verification | Capture: Returned resource row plus Status board checks showing whether other release blockers remain.]

4.7 Change the expected return or AMO

Use Set maintenance until… to enter a future expected return date/time without changing the squawk. Use Set A.M.O to assign a different organization during the current visit. Choosing None clears the AMO assignment.

After either change, verify the resource row and the AMO dashboard charts later. Correct AMO and date information is important for meaningful turnaround and utilization statistics.

4.8 Delete, deactivate, and reactivate a resource

Select the resource, then use the minus icon or Delete or set inactive.

  • A resource that has never been used can be permanently deleted.
  • A resource with operational history is retained and set inactive so historical records remain coherent.
  • Existing schedules can block the operation. Move or delete those schedules first if the system gives that message.
  • To restore a resource, enable Show inactives, right-click it, and choose Set as active.

Do not use deactivation as a substitute for a temporary maintenance state. Deactivate only when the resource should no longer participate in normal operations.
