Use the plus icon to create a resource or select a row and use the edit icon to modify it. The dialog contains General, Details, Operations, and Competencies.
For a new aircraft, the safest workflow is to complete all four tabs, keep Set as Grounded at creation enabled, save, verify the initial squawk, and release the resource only after the configuration has been reviewed.

5.1 General tab
| Option | Purpose and recommended use |
|---|---|
| Base location | Assigns the operating base. Choose All bases only when the resource is intentionally shared. |
| Resource Category | Aircraft category. This is required. Select the real operational category. |
| Resource Group | Places the resource in the correct Scheduler/Flight Record group and supplies group defaults such as color. |
| Resource Type | Aircraft model/type code. Use the search icon to find and select a model rather than guessing. |
| Name – Registration | Operational identifier displayed throughout the system. This is required and is stored in uppercase. |
| Description | Plain-language make/model description. |
| Set as Grounded at creation | Creates an initial Waiting initial verification squawk. Leave enabled until the aircraft has been reviewed and intentionally released. |
| Restrict view | Displays the resource only to members with the required Scheduler viewing credential. Use for genuinely restricted resources, not as a temporary maintenance control. |
| Scheduler default color | Shows the color inherited from the selected resource group. |
| Override Scheduler default color | Forces a different header color for this resource. Use sparingly so established visual conventions remain meaningful. |
The dialog will not save without a Resource Category and Name/Registration. If the type search is opened, double-click the correct result to populate the type and description.

5.2 Details tab
| Option | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Last registered Hobbs | Starting Hobbs value used for continuity. Enter the verified current reading. |
| Initial TTSN | Baseline TTSN before system-recorded activity is added. Use the organization’s approved source. |
| Serial number | Manufacturer’s aircraft serial number. |
| Year built | Four-digit manufacture year, not later than the current year. |
| Pilot Operating Handbook | Reference used by staff to identify the applicable handbook. |
Baseline time changes can affect actual TTSN and next-due calculations. Record a correction only after reconciling it with the official source.

5.3 Operations tab
| Option | Purpose and impact |
|---|---|
| Cruise speed | Normal cruise value used by resource operations. Keep it consistent with the organization’s aircraft configuration standard. |
| Taxi duration | Default ground/taxi allowance used with flight activity. |
| Maximum flight time before alert | Duration threshold that causes an operational alert. |
| Automatic postponed squawk | Default future period offered for postponed squawks: N/A, 7, 15, 30, or 90 days, or 1, 3, or 6 months. Use N/A when every deferral must be entered individually. |
| Qualifications (AND) | Every listed qualification is required to clear a squawk for this aircraft. |
| Roles (OR) | Holding any one listed role can satisfy this part of the resource-specific clearance rule. |
| Memorandums — Have to be read | Requires applicable memorandums to be read before clearance. |
| Is trackable | Marks the resource as having flight-following support. |
| Actual path | Live tracking destination. |
| History path | Historical tracking destination pattern. This is normally configured by an administrator. |
Leaving the resource-specific unsnag qualification area blank uses the organization’s default clearance rules. Do not add restrictive qualifications or roles unless the accountable manager has approved the change.

5.4 Competencies tab
This tab sets valid competencies required for the Pilot in Command or instructor according to activity type:
- Training
- Solo
- Renting
- Internal
- Ground
- Other
For each activity, select a competency and add it to the list. Remove an entry only after confirming it is no longer an operational requirement. These settings affect who can be assigned in the Scheduler or Flight Record; they do not qualify the aircraft itself.

5.5 Save and verify
After adding or updating a resource:
- Confirm that the dialog reports success and closes.
- Refresh Resources.
- Check registration, group, status, base, TTSN, Hobbs, and Scheduler restrictions.
- Open Squawk Manager and review Data sheet and Operations.
- For a new aircraft, confirm the Waiting initial verification squawk before any release decision.
