{"id":4960,"date":"2026-10-10T19:52:37","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T23:52:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.airsupervision.com\/wp-r\/docs\/general-knowledge\/memorandum\/reading-and-acknowledging-a-memorandum\/"},"modified":"2026-10-10T21:22:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T01:22:08","slug":"reading-and-acknowledging-a-memorandum","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.airsupervision.com\/wp-r\/docs\/general-knowledge\/memorandum\/reading-and-acknowledging-a-memorandum\/","title":{"rendered":"Reading and acknowledging a memorandum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Access is locked until you acknowledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as an active memorandum addressed to one of your roles has not been acknowledged by you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>every page you try to open (home page, schedule, records, messages, and so on) <strong>sends you back to the Memos center<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the <strong>Unread<\/strong> folder shows the number of memoranda waiting for you, for example <strong>Unread (1)<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>no other activity is possible<\/strong> in AirSupervision until you have acknowledged <strong>all<\/strong> your unread memoranda.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The lock is released immediately after your last acknowledgment: you can then use AirSupervision normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on your organization&#8217;s settings, the lock can be replaced by a <strong>Memos<\/strong> pop-up window: <em>&#8220;You have 1 unread memorandum, please read it!&#8221;<\/em>. This window appears on every page you open, and its <strong>Read<\/strong> button takes you to the Memos center. If a memorandum is waiting, the <strong>Memos center<\/strong> opens with the <strong>Unread<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the memorandum in the list on the left of the page. Its content appears on the right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Read the whole text. If files are attached (under <strong>Attached<\/strong>), open them: they are part of the memorandum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Acknowledge<\/strong> at the bottom right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The memorandum leaves the <strong>Unread<\/strong> folder. If you have other unread memoranda, repeat steps 2 to 4.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you see in a memorandum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Element<\/th><th>Meaning<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Number (grey badge) and subject<\/td><td>Each memorandum has a unique number. Use it when you refer to a memorandum.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Author<\/td><td>The person who published the memorandum (or on whose behalf it was published).<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Active<\/strong><\/td><td>The date from which the memorandum applies.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Read<\/strong><\/td><td>The date you acknowledged it (only after acknowledgment).<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Exp<\/strong><\/td><td>The end date, when one is set.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>To all<\/strong><\/td><td>The roles the memorandum is addressed to. Hover over it to see the full list.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Attached<\/strong><\/td><td>Files that are part of the memorandum. Click a file to open or download it.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buttons<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Button<\/th><th>What it does<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Acknowledge<\/strong><\/td><td>Confirms that you have read and understood the memorandum. The date and time are recorded.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>View only<\/strong><\/td><td>Shown instead of Acknowledge when the memorandum is not addressed to any of your roles: you can read it, but you do not have to acknowledge it.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Open<\/strong><\/td><td>Opens the memorandum in a larger window, easier to read.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Print<\/strong><\/td><td>Opens a printable version of the memorandum in a new tab.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">After acknowledging: date and time are recorded<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AirSupervision records the <strong>date and time<\/strong> at which you acknowledged the memorandum. You can see it on the memorandum next to <strong>Read<\/strong>, and in the list a check mark shows that the memorandum has been read. The person in charge sees the same information in the list of members who have read it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An acknowledgment cannot be cancelled. Unread memoranda are highlighted in the list. Open each one, read it and tap <strong>Acknowledge<\/strong> at the bottom.
