The Organizational chart<\/strong> shows every role of your organization as a tree, from the top management down to each instructor, student or employee role. Under each role you see the members who hold it. It is the quickest way to find who holds a role<\/strong>: who are the ground instructors, who is the chief flight instructor, who can be contacted for maintenance, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access to the chart is restricted to users with an operational level set by administrators, or with the credential to manage members. Some roles, or the members listed under them, can be hidden from users below a given level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open the main menu Connection \u203a Library \u203a Organization chart<\/strong>. The same link is available at the bottom of every page, in the Library<\/strong> column of the footer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chart loads in a large frame. It can take a few seconds for big organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blue title bar<\/td>Role name. Move the mouse over it to read the full name and description.<\/td><\/tr>
Text under the title<\/td>Description of the role.<\/td><\/tr>
Members:<\/strong><\/td>Number of active members holding the role.<\/td><\/tr>
List of names<\/td>Members holding the role (first-name initial and last name). Move the mouse over a name to open the member card, then use See profile<\/strong> to open the profile.<\/td><\/tr>
Small +<\/strong> in the corner<\/td>The role has sub-roles. Click the arrows around a box to fold or unfold its children, siblings or parents.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Colours of the member icons<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Staff with the proper level see a coloured person icon before each name. It tells whether the member holds the competencies required by the role:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red<\/td>A required competency is expired or missing.<\/td><\/tr>
Yellow<\/td>A required competency will expire soon.<\/td><\/tr>
Grey<\/td>Competent member: all required competencies are valid.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Uncheck a colour in the legend under the chart to hide those members, for example to keep only the members with an expired or missing competency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Searching for a role<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Type a word in the Search…<\/strong> field under the chart, in lower case<\/strong> (for example ground<\/code>, instructor<\/code> or maintenance<\/code>).<\/li>\n\n\n
  2. Press Enter<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The chart keeps only the matching roles, highlighted in yellow, and the branch that leads to them. The search looks into role names, descriptions and the names listed in the boxes, so you can also type part of a member’s last name to find the roles that member holds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To display the whole chart again, clear the search field with the backspace key or click Reset<\/strong>. Reset<\/strong> also restores the original zoom and position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
